Description:
This frame was unlike any other we've ever done. Although it appears complex,
it turned out to be relatively simple due to it's repetitive and circular
nature. The homeowner came to us with drawings of lighthouses and a dream
that he had been working on for many years. This three story, octagonal
frame of Douglas Fir has a cupola on top with a beautiful view of Raystown
Lake, PA.
The frame has been wrapped in Structural
Insulated Panels with T&G (tongue and groove)
on the ceiling. There is also a yellow cedar porch on the front which
is screened in for comfortable evenings in the mountains.
This frame design received the Project Expo People's
Choice Award at the 18th annual Timber Framer's Guild Conference held
in Burlington, VT. (click images for larger views)
