I-70 Welcome Center

LCTF was recently selected by Kinsley Construction to provide the Timber Framing for Two Maryland State Highway Administration Welcome Centers on either sides of I-70 in Fredrick County. The two structures require more than 900 Timbers totaling 71,000 board feet. This project will be the fourth collaboration between Kinsley and LCTF.

PCN To Film Tour of LCTF

LCTF was recently contacted by PCN (Pennsylvania Cable Network) to discuss the possibility of filming a tour of our facility for its PCN Tours Program. This program features selected Pennsylvania companies and museums and is aired daily at 7:00 AM & 6:00 PM with a premiere televised every Sunday at 8:00 PM. The tours reach 3 million viewers. PCN has arranged a filming date in the middle of February 2009. We will announce on this website the date of the premiere.

Some of the previously toured companies include: Alcoa Aluminum, Harley Davidson, Hershey's Chocolate Factory, Mack Trucks, Martin Guitars, Woolrich Clothing, York Barbell and Zippo Lighters.

AIA Certification

Tony Zaya and Tim Diener were recently certified to teach an AIA continuing education credit course on Timber Framing.

Timber Framers Guild Conference

Six members of the LCTF team attended the Timber Framers Guild conference held in Rockport, Maine in November.
